Vizio has come from being almost an unknown name in the HDTV market to the top seller. Vizio was able to jump from 9.1% market share in Q1 to 12.1% in Q2, which in turn made Samsung drop from 13.2% market share in Q1 to just 10.7% in Q2. That puts Vizio at an impressive 433% increase in just one quarter.
With units now on display in stores like Sam’s Club, Costco, Wal-Mart and Circuit City I am sure many more people will have the opportunity to check them out. The display models are very impressive looking with great price tags to match, they have full 1080p models starting at $1399 for a 42-inch model and a 52-inch model for $2299. Personally I am holding out for the larger 60″ (1080i) plasma for just $2499 that took the Best TV of CES 2007 from CNET.
