Huzzah! In what seems like the best news of the day, Yahoo Mail is planning to let their users send text messages to phones everywhere! Yahoo Inc.’s move to give emailers more ways to reach friends and online contacts by allowing them to trade short messages with mobile users is touted to be a long-awaited one.
This feature will be made available to more than 250 million users of a new Yahoo Mail version in coming weeks. This overhaul is part of a drive to turn its email franchise into a more fashionable, sociably in-tuned activity that combines well with the instant convenience of communication and the vast network of user’s relationships.
This year also saw Yahoo testing another feature that lets its e-mail users communicate using conventional e-mail or via instant messages using either Yahoo Messenger or Microsoft Live Messenger.
