Sony has previously confirmed that the “Rolly” (a digital audio player in case you can’t guess from the picture) will be a display-less device (think iPod Shuffle) with just the one primary button being “basically the only button you use”.
Additionaly, according to “sources” the Rolly is intended to be a “music-focused Wii on wheels”, whatever that is meant to mean?
But ………… when you take into consideration that Sony has a pretty cool way of controlling their W910 Walkman Phone via the accelerometer combined with their Shake control software; you start to see where the Wii reference comes in. It looks like it will be possible to start and stop the music, change tracks, and maybe even increase or decrease the volume by a series of movements. Now if that is true it will be cool, but very weird – I can just imagine the mayhem this could cause on a crowded Subway during the morning commute!
