Rumor: Sony Ericsson going big into gaming phones?

According to Mobile Entertainment (ME), Sony Ericsson (SE) is about to bust out a new line of gaming-focussed phones. This new niche in the cell phone market really has yet to bear fruit but SE could be the ones to break that wall down.
There has been much chatter involving the new gaming phones to support a Playstation like interface, but ME thinks that it will probably not. Instead, ME suspects these new gaming phones to support a Wii-like interface, the hot gaming console of the moment. A year ago Rikko Sakaguchi, who works in the design department, hinted that he was developing a gaming interface and more recently, there were pictures being developed of a possible prototype.
If this turns out to be true, all you gamers out there can expect this new phone to be available sometime in February of ’08.
