If ever proof was needed about how quickly technology advances, meet the C840, the ‘successor’ to the C740i, which will be three months old next month! Yep, 2.5 months on the sales floor and you are now ‘old news’ my old C740i mate.

Features of the C840 include:

  • 8 megapixel CCD sensor
  • SMC Pentax lens
  • face tracking functionality
  • 3x optical zoom
  • 2.5-inch LTPS LCD monitor
  • ISO all the way up to 1,600
  • video mode enables users to capture clips in 720 x 400 resolution at 30 frames-per-second
  • 6MB of internal storage, that you can expand with an SD or SDHC card

As yet no news on price, availability on when its successor will be available!
