Chinese must prove their sex via webcam or face termination, says King of the Worlds Aurora Tech

King of the World; a Chinese MMORPG has just recently suspended any account that involves female characters who are actually males in real life. The game publisher Aurora Technology has already frozen the accounts and players will be required to prove their gender via a webcam to have it re-activated.

Strangely females can continue to play the game as a male character. I am also unsure of just how well the webcam verification will actually work. It does not seem like it would be all that diffucult to find a female to quickly pose for the webcam verification or future players could most likely just set up their account with female set as the gender. Aurora Technology has yet to provide any explanation of exactly why the account freezing is taking place.
