The Wii is aiming for a whole host of golds at the 2007 British Academy Video Games Awards. It has been nominated in game of the year, innovation and multiplayer categories, with 5 nominations each going to:
- Crackdown
- Gears of War
- Okami
- God of War 2
You will have to wait until 23rd October to find out the results. In the meantime other nominations are:
The best game nominations also include action titles Gears of War and Kane and Lynch: Dead Men, underwater shooter Bioshock, PC title Crysis and Guitar Hero II.
In the innovation category the nominations encompass aquatic title flOw, nature adventure game Okami, role-playing game Super Paper Mario, the card battle title The Eye of Judgment, Trauma Center: Second Opinion, and Wii Sports.

I'm just not sure that Wii Sports is that caliber of game. It was fun, but best in class I'm just not sure.
