Halo 3 has officially become the “biggest entertainment launch in history” with an estimated $170 million in sales in the first 24 hours alone. Halo 3 sales beat previous records set by movies like Spiderman 3 and the last Harry Potter novel. The launch of Halo 3 included over 10,000 retailers hosting Midnight Madness and had more than 1.7 million copies sold as pre-orders. In addition to becoming the biggest launch Halo 3 also became the fasting pre-selling game in history, overtaking none other than Halo 2.
