Initial feedback on the Pearl 8130 is that it is living up to the previous hype. Unlike previous Verizon products the 8130 only comes with VZ Navigator preloaded so you can use the GPS function straight away. Well; that is as long as you are hooked up via EV-DO because of course there is no WiFi functionality. In terms of costs there are a few details but no firm price. It is expected to be in the $150 to $250 range with the following Verizon details:
- BlackBerry data plans are $45 on top of voice plans
- An extra $15 will let you turn it into a 3G modem for your laptop
- The 3.5mm headphone jack should be compatible with many of the iPhone-targeted headphones hitting the market, such as V-Moda’s Vibe Duo
