iPhone and Canada

It looks like the iPhone may be going to Canada next, as iPhone fever continues. It would be nice for the Canadians to finally experience the iPhone except for one matter, the cost, which I’ll cover more in depth in a moment.

Basically this rumor first started from an “insider” at a Canadian fashion store, Holt Renfrew, weird, what’s a fashion store doing with the iPhone? Anyway, they aren’t commenting about this rumor and neither is Rogers, the cellphone provider that was rumored to sell the iPhone, or Apple. Now to the price, like mentioned before the price is a little crazy, $799.

It’s up to you whether or not you believe this rumor, but in the following days I’m sure more info will come out regarding this, so stay tuned!

  1. The holt renfrew story smells in more ways then immaginable.

    Bad rumor, IMHO.

  2. We've seen so many false rumours before (about the iPhone release in Canada). I give this rumour a 10% chance of being true.

The price is way out of line in my opinion, and just doesn't make any sense… however the pricing is not out of line with Holt Renfrew (as they are well known for over charging customers).

And as a matter of fact the Canadian dollar is trading at $102.01 to the Bush-Cheney Peso today. So if the iPhone is truly coming to Canada it should be priced at $391.00 CAD.
