AT&T has recently placed a bid for a wireless license in Qatar, India. The current bid is for a 2G license, but if all goes well that could be expected to also include a 3G service in the future.
The move overseas to India could be a smart move on the part of AT&T with over 200 million mobile users that is currently the world’s fastest growing wireless market.
While its nice to hear possible expansion plans, I still cannot seem to forget that many people are still waiting for 3G service here in the US.
