On the Mac gaming site, Inside Mac Games, an adept reader may have stumbled upon something huge. For soccer (or football, whatever toots your horn) fans, at least.
While registering a copy of FIFA ’08 in Windows, via Boot Camp on an Intel iMac, this IMG reader saw the words “FIFA 08 – PC & Mac” on the registration form. If anything, this strongly suggests, you guessed it, a Mac version of FIFA ’08. This makes sense, as EA has just rekindled their gaming ventures onto the Mac platform, with six Mac versions of their games.
I for one am excited about this, being both a soccer and Mac fan. In fact, pictured above (kicking that horribly placed Apple-soccer ball that I conjured up) is one of my favorite players (hint: his name rhymes with Shmanye Shmooney). However, I hope that if this game is real, that it will run on a MacBook; the other EA Mac games don’t, as of yet.
No release date, as this is just a wild rumor at this point, but it should be out at least by the middle of next year, by which time FIFA ’09 would be set to release.

Although its great that Mac is getting more gaming exposure, they really should have tried to get the Pro Evolution Soccer/Winning Eleven football series. Now there is a footie game…
i'm a soccer and mac fan too. The graphics look great, can't wait to check it out…

thanks!
OMG really helpful post.
Keep up the good writing, look forward to more of the same.
Howdy Indraneel, what was the performance of the windows version like on your mac? I've an Intel CD2 24" 2.1Ghz iMac and am wondering whether to get it having had fairly average success with other pc soccer games.
thanks in advance
Mr C.
