LG, possibly in response to inquiries from those not looking to make up for their shortcomings, revealed a 32″ Plasma screen TV. Traditionally, 32″ is LCD territory, but LG is leading the way for those wishing smaller screens but still high quality plasma viewing.
“It’s about carving out a new niche for a growing demand,” said Simon Kang, president and CEO of LG Electronics Digital Display Company. “When there is a large flat-panel TV in almost every living room in the high-end market, people start to want a more personal TV set for cozier settings, which has led to the ‘second TV’ trend.
Dubbed the 32PC5RV, the 32 incher features a 16:9 aspect ratio and still connects to most things you’d wish to connect it to.
The unit will be released in Brazil this month(LG sees volume in emerging markets for this size) and then 27 other nations will follow and will include North America and Europe. Price is not set yet though LG believe they have kept it “low”.
