Nintendo triple their profits – Wii!!

The continuing demand for the Wii console has helped Nintendo to an operating profit of 188.78bn yen ($1.65bn; £810m) from 67.1bn yen a year earlier.

The success of the Wii has helped Nintendo to treble its profit in the six months to the end of September.

In addition to the 7.3 million Wii sales, the small matter of 13.4 DS sales wont have done them any harm at all.

Demand continues to grow with an expected 17.5 million sales in the year to March, but production is still lagging behind:

Demand has been so high that the Japanese firm has had supply difficulties. It is thought that it will take another year before the firm can ramp up production to meet demand.

So if you want one and you see one I suggest you grab it. That is what I am going to do next time I am out shopping!
