Nintendo has made it clear that we will not see any price cut on the Wii. It has been an off and on rumor for a long time that we could expect a $200 Wii, but Nintendo has finally put it to rest.
“We’re still focusing on how to meet booming demand,” Iwata said Friday. “We’re absolutely not considering a price cut.”
Which should not come as a surprise to many people, the demand is still very strong with most people still having a hard time finding a Wii on a store shelf. We also recently saw that Nintendo has tripled their profits from last year, thanks in part to the strong sales of the Wii.
