Reports are saying that Sony’s epic (and still so) console, the Playstation 2, is due for a slimming down.
Wait.
Now remember, the PS2 went from its former chunky self to the thinner one pictured to the right, over 3 years ago.
This purported new version is said to release early next year, retailing at $99; which is minuscule compared to today’s new generation consoles.
I can’t imagine this thing living on any longer, let alone getting slimmer. Reminds me of those older movie stars that over-use Botox to “improve” their looks. Except the PS2 still has some killer games.
As with every rumor, well, ever, you’re going to have to wait this one out to see what happens.

Remember, they did this to the Playstation Original, although, as they made it smaller, they did redesign the case and make it white. I think it was called the PSone, and was released some time in 2000.
Good times….. How much smaller can they make a slimline PS2 though? Will it have enough room for a fan? (I have one now, and I cant find a fan outlet or any blades)
