Hava place shifting

In the expanding world of place and time shifting of entertainment comes a new contender, Hava, taking aim at Slingbox’s dominance in the marketplace. With HD support starting at just $159, they could be on to something.

Today they are launching Hava Titanium HD, $249. Included with this unit is a 802.11g (with 802.11n coming in the near future) dongle that fits into one of the two USB slots for wire-free transmitting to your PC or just an external stand alone hard drive.  An unlimited number of PCs in your network can watch via WiFi.
The tuner can also be used in TIVO-like fashion, pausing, rewinding and fast forwarding and allows burning to DVD. Nice.

The mobile player looks to be in Beta, but free.  Just a heads up.

  • Stream Live TV – to multiple PCs simultaneously (Multicast)
