Yamaha has performed well with it’s all in one Sound Projector design. Now it appears that Polk audio is sticking their toe into the all-in-one market. Polk’s SoundBar 360 DVD Theater follows in Yamaha’s footsteps by allowing those with difficult wiring situations a chance to get surround sound without the wiring hassle.
The 44” long speaker array replicates 5.1 surround sound with a proprietary sound field technology that Polk is calling SDA. Unlike the Yamaha sound projector, it comes with a separate dedicated DVD player. So far Polk hasn’t released a price point or announced if the DVD and SoundBar can be sold separately. Polk could set some aggressive pricing leading to some strong competition for Yamaha this holiday season.
