I’ve got a new favorite company: CSR. Not only are they proactive in getting big name companies to design things I want as a consumer, but they do it on the cheap. For example, they are now showing off a $10 eBOM (electronic bill of materials) Bluetooth MP3 player guts and they want everyone to get in on it.
Everyone? Oh yes. CSR deals with Apple, Dell, LG, Motorola, NEC, Nokia, Panasonic, RIM, Samsung, Sharp, Sony, TomTom and Toshiba. That is the who’s who of electronic industry players, so these guys know their stuff.
They are willing to sell me (and presumably you) a developers kit for $1250 comprising development boards, SDK, design pack and schematics.
This kit contains everything needed to take a Bluetooth enabled MP3 Player to market in the shortest time possible item with the minimum qualification cost.
Could I really create an iPod killer? Could you? Hit the link and begin your quest.
