Sony’s venerable Walkman branded MP3 players have fallen so far behind Apple at this point its actually sad, however this December Sony looks to regain some of it’s past portable glory with the new Walkman NW-E013.
The NW-E013 is a small USB thumb drive sized player that weighs less than 30 grams and offers 1GB of storage. Available in several colors it’s glossy design seems to be aimed squarely at the ladies. Though it’s slated to be released only in Japan this December, I would imagine that if demand is high enough, we’ll surely see it reach the US. The NW-E013 is expected to retail for 10,980 JPY, which is just over $100 US.
