OLPC had posted an update last week to give some estimated delivery dates for the XO laptops that were ordered under the “Give One Get One” program and have just announced that shipping will begin today, December 10, 2007.
Originally the laptops were supposed to begin arriving on December 14, but with them leaving today, its possible to have a delivery before then. The orders that are shipping today were amongst the first orders that were placed.
Its only a matter of time now before we become overwhelmed with unboxing pictures and reviews. Hopefully the laptops being shipped overseas will be arriving soon also, after all that is what the program was designed for.
