Dell has released their long awaited tablet PC, the Latitude XT is officially available for sale with shipping to begin before the years end. Retailing for $2,500 it may not be the cheapest tablet around but it certainly does have great specs including weighing in at less than 4 pounds. The Latitude XT features:
Core 2 Solo 1.06GHz ULV processor or Core 2 Duo 1.2GHz ULV processor
Support for up to 3GB DDR2 SDRAM
12.1-inch WXGA (1280×800) display with option of LED-backlit or Outdoor viewing
Touchscreen and digitizer pen input
ATI Radeon Xpress 1250 integrated graphics
Hard Drive options to include: 1.8-inch 4200 rpm 40GB or 80GB, 1.8-inch 5400 rpm 120GB or 32GB and 64GB SSD
Wireless support for 802.11a/g/n
Mobile Broadband with EVDO Rev A service available through Verizon or Sprint

Shipping with a standard battery that offers up to 5 hours of power and an option for an extended battery that gives up to 9.5 hours this should make a great tablet for just about any mobile professional. Its just a shame its well into the $2,000 price range, given a few upgrades you could easily hit the $3,000 mark.
