Using a technology called Focussed Ion Beam, and with the objective of increasing the awareness and interest in nanoscience and nanotechnology in the young, researches in Israel have squeezed at 300,000 word version of the Bible into a silicon chip measuring 0.5sq-mm.

If you really want to know how they do it Ohad Zohar the project manager can explain: “When we send the particle beam toward a point on the surface, the gold atoms bounce off of this point, thus exposing the silicon layer underneath.”

Not content with this pretty amazing feet, the next step is actually pretty cool in that they are going to photograph the entire Bible and display it as a 7m x 7m picture which means that people will be able to read the bible (well if you read Hebrew that is) without any visual aids. Next to this picture they will display the nano bible, which is about the size of a grain of sugar. This I reckon would be a pretty cool thing to see.
