Keep in touch with your favorite websites, no matter where you are

There is a new service called Web-Alerts, that acts like an RSS feed on your cell phone. It looks to be a pretty cool service and all you need is a cell phone, and perhaps a text messaging plan. If you have a hard time keeping up with your favorite sites, and as long as that site has an RSS feed, you can be informed whenever that website updates.

Once the site updates, you can get a preview of the article and then if you like what you see and you want to read more about it, then you can go online and check it out for yourself. Just in case you don’t want to be updated for any old news, you can choose to set certain keywords and if an article comes in matching those keywords, it will then be sent to your phone. Another nice thing is that this feature provided by Web-Alerts is free! Although, you might want to make sure you have a lot of text or unlimited texts in your plan otherwise it may add up to a hefty bill.
