Reports are coming in that Asus is planning to announce a slightly larger and more equipped Eee PC at CES. The word is that the new Eee will include a larger display at 8.9-inches with 1024 x 600 resolution and will have integrated WiMAX.

In addition the new Eee is also rumored to be based on the Intel Menlow platform which would offer some power savings as compared to the current model. Overall this sounds great, a bigger display, mobile internet access and better battery life.

The new models, if speculation is true are estimated to go into the $600 to $700 range. With CES less than a week away now, it should be interesting to see what, if anything they announce. Asus is planning a joint presentation along with Intel and Sprint at CES.

Join ASUS, Intel and Sprint to learn about the state of WiMAX technology, preview next-generation mobile solutions (including the next generation Eee PC) and immerse yourself in tomorrow’s wireless protocol.
