The BBC is reporting Netflix will unveil a new set top box that will download movies to your TV, sidestepping the issues the company has been having with the post office. Currently, Netflix offers movies streaming to it customers via the PC, with the box they aim to bring the internet content from the PC to the big screen. Assuming you are not a cheap skate like me and have a big screen.
It is said Netflix has delivered over 10 million online downloads to its customers. Not too shabby. BBC says Netflix customers can use the box at no extra charge but it is unclear if they will have to fork over cash for the LG made box. Ugh, yet another box to hide somewhere?
It looks like Apple TV and Vudu will have a new competitor. This is one battle we’ll all watch. Expect an update from Gadgetell @ CES.
