Goodyear GPS
Goodyear is a company you would not think would enter the GPS arena, as they are most known for their excellent tires. Until recently, it has been reported that Goodyear joined forces with The NCC (a consumer products company design for mass retailers and catalogues). Now, Goodyear’s name will be on eight new GPS units, that will be unveiled at CES.

Goodyear went as far to say that the features on these new GPS systems are never before seen features. One of these new features will be a remote control that will allow you to, with a touch of a button, answer as well as hang up phone calls. Another cool feature is that some of the eight new GPS units will come with MSN Direct, allowing you to access service for for live traffic updates, local gas prices, weather reports, as well as movie times. Other features include easy to use Bluetooth, which utilises a two button remote control to answer and/or reject calls. Using this remote control will allow drivers to keep their eyes on the road without having to take their eyes off the road and hands off the wheel.

Barry Rosenstock, VP of Operations for the The NCC, had this to say

“Managing your cell phone by remote control is an entirely new concept in GPS, but it speaks to consumer demand for driver safety and convenience, which is what these devices aspire to provide.”

All units come with a 4.3 inch touch screen, good speaker quality sound, high sensitive receivers, text-to-speech capabilities, and millions POI’s. For the PMP aspect of the GPS’, they come with audio and video playback, A/V inputs, TV tuners, or DVD players, 2GB of internal as well as 2GB SD memory expansion, all in Goodyear’s protective rubber.

If you are going to the CES, then be sure to check out these GPS’ at The NCC’s North Hall Booth #4616 and they are expected to go on sale during the first quarter of 2008.
