‘HD DVD is not dead,’ says Toshiba’s VP of Digital A/V Marketing

At today’s Toshiba Press Conferece, the company’s VP of Digital A/V Marketing recognized Warner Bros. decision to pull out of the HD DVD format in support of Blu-ray, and stated “HD DD is not dead.” That got the crowd roweled up. She didn’t so much as call out “Warner Bros.”, but she did call them “That company.” We all knew what she meant.

She also mentioned that while Warner Bros. is abandoning them, their HD DVD player sales are remaining strong. The company also announced their new “HD DVD Concierge” service, which is “a new 800 offering dedicated assistance top purchasers of to HD DVD customers — 1-888-MY-HDDVD.
