The Samsung NV24 HD: A surprisingly affordable HD camera

Samsung has decided to go small with the introduction of their new NV24 HD camera. As the old saying goes, good things come in small packages. Displayed this week at the Consumer Electronics Show, according to the powers-that-be at Samsung, this new high definition, 24mm ultra-wide angle digital camera with 10-megapixels is the smallest one made anywhere in the world. Despite its size, it can capture high-definition video at a resolution of 720p and a speed of 30 frames per second.

There is one little catch associated with this new little Samsung wonder. You can view the video on an HDTV, but you have to buy a separate cradle. If you don’t, you are limited to the 2.5-inch LCD. All content can be stored on SD cards, it has USB 2.0 port and the video is in MP4 format.

Both digital and optical image stabilization modes guarantee all your photos will be nice, but you will have to wait until March of this year to buy it. When it launches, it is expected to cost somewhere in the neighborhood of $350.
