GPS’ usually don’t do much other than provide directions, and some of the advanced systems can play video, music, and get live TV or traffic updates. However, this new GPS features something never before seen in GPS, an integrated breathalyser. I’m not sure how this would actually help, if you’re drunk and still want to drive you’re probably going to want to drive anyway regardless if the GPS tells you you are drunk, but its still a nice option.
Basically, the G400, by NDrive, measures how much alcohol per liter there is in your blood and then displays that information on the screen. If only this GPS could prevent the car from starting up if you have been drinking a bit too much, then this would be really useful feature. The G400 is already available in Portugal and retails for 200 Euros, or about $295. It should be available in the States pretty soon, but an exact date has not been announced.
