Genius has announced two new multimedia tablets designed specifically for graphic designers and artists, the G-Pen M609 and G-Pen M712. Both tablets are plug and play ready and will work with either Windows Vista or Mac OS X, and have a high resolution (4,000 LPI) screen display. The G-Pen M609 comes with a display measuring 9″ x 5.5″ (wide) / 7.25″ x 5.5″ (standard) while the slightly bigger G-Pen 712 touts a bigger display measuring 12” x 7.25” (wide) / x 9.5” x 7.25” (standard).
To make it easy for users to access Office, the Internet and other Vista or Mac functions, Genius has created the G-Pen M609 with 34 hot keys while the M609 has 26 hot keys. Other features of these two new Genius tablets include; rolling pads for scrolling/zooming/increasing volume, as well as hot keys that can be use for creating, writing, drawing, sketching and signing emails. The two tablets also come with a cordless pen. The G-Pen M712 is preloaded with Photoshop Elements 5.0, PhotoImpact 12SE, Macro Key Manager and Office while the G-Pen M609 has all the same software except for PhotoShop Elements 5.0.
Finally, the pricing, the G-Pen M712 retails for $249 while the G-Pen M609 retails for $195 and both are currently available.
