Lenovo has recently announced their latest mobile phone; the P960. Overall this is really a fairly basic model, but it does have one really cool feature that we have yet to see on a wide variety of mobile phones; fingerprint biometrics security.
In this case the fingerprint security is handled by Atrua Technologies and the scanner is located on the right side of the phone, towards the bottom, or next to the keypad, and can be used to protect “sensitive data” which can include your address book, call history or even messages.
Other than the fingerprint scanner, the handset offer fairly basic specs which include a 2.8-inch touchscreen display, stylus, 1.3 megapixel camera, microSD card slot and a dual-band GSM/GPRS radio.
While the specs have officially been announced, Lenovo has yet to reveal any pricing or availability. While it looks nice, we cannot help to think a second generation with 3G support would be a much nicer option, on the other hand the lack of 3G support may keep the price down a bit.
