For those who have been avidly following the Olympus digital camera product line, the newly announced SP-565 UZ may seem familiar to you. That’s because it’s almost the same as the previously released SP-570UZ digital camera. But this time, Olympus has shrunk it into more of an ultra-compact size while still retaining the same 20x wide-angle telephoto zoom lens which is equivalent to 26-520mm professional zoom lens, in an easy to use point-and-shoot.
Aside from this, the SP-565UZ also boasts of a barrage of features including a 10-megapixel CCD sensor, dual image stabilization, face detection, shadow adjustment technology, and perfect shot preview, Manual Aperture Priority and Shutter Speed Priority controls, high-speed sequential shooting and pre-capture modes, in-camera editing and True Pic III Image Processor. In addition, the SP-565UZ also features 33 shooting modes, supports xD Picture Card and can display photos on HDTVs.
The SP-565UZ will be available sometime in October and is expected to retail for $399.99.
