Our man Iyaz is on the seen for today’s T-Mobile event showcasing the G1 Android phone. Google’s mobile OS efforts will be in full regalia and I for one can’t wait for the 10:00 am start. Stay tuned to Gadgetell for updates as they happen.

A: supports AAC, WMA, Mp3; no DRM locked. Skype: not yet. Yes, internationally.

A: Gmail is robust, very fast. Good experience on phone. Gmail powered front end. first implementation of mobile presence.
Q: target market?
A: Mass appeal. consumer, not necessarily enterprise.

A: Chrome-lite (if you like)

A: google sync. handset only bluetooth.

A: Google and T-Mobile will co market in October. Biggest ever for a mobile device. Interesting.

A: no. sync happens in back end. designed to be its own deal.

A: Push Gmail.

A: read docs and excel files. No exchange compatibility…yet. Sim locked to TMobile

Amazon says their music store is preloaded on the phone, songs for .90 cents and lots of albums at .99. This could give iTunes a run.
Fun fact: G1 is a globular cluster, a large, bright ball of light consisting of at least 300,000 old stars. G1, also known as Mayall II, orbits the Andromeda galaxy (M31), the nearest major spiral galaxy to our Milky Way. Located 170,000 light-years from Andromeda’s nucleus, G1 is the brightest globular cluster in the Local Group of galaxies. At a distance of 2.9 million light years, it shines at 13.7 mag visual magnitude, and is thus visible as tiny patch in large amateur telescopes
