Better start writing to Santa folks because this one doesn’t come cheap. Introduced on Tuesday, Motorola’s new AURA might even make Hugh proud.
It sports the “world’s first circular display” and certainly doesn’t lack colors, it has 16 million of them with a 300 dpi resolution. That cyclops display is covered with Grade 1, 62-carat sapphire crystal lens. What does that mean to you? The lens is made of one of the most scratch resistant materials on the earth.
Get ready for this this housing is stainless steel that is both polished twice, once electro-polished and again by hand. The case is chemically etched and PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coated. My my. Didn’t cut corners with this puppy. It takes two weeks just to create the front of this baby.
Of course, the handset is no standard job either. It’s inspired by (in case you didn’t catch it yet), watches. It’s got an assisted-opening blade made up of over 200 parts with over 130 of them ball bearings (Swiss made of course), and custom Tungsten Carbide Coated Gears. I’m almost getting tired typing all of this. And I feel like I should order a latte. No, make that an espresso.
Some of the stuff it features: a 2 MP Fixed Focus camera, Bluetooth 2.0, and a Micro USB port. Of course, the standard email and text, multimedia playback, open source browser (not named at this point).
This fancy phone is coming out in December. If you don’t want to plunk down the $1,999, there is always that letter to Santa. If you’re not on his naughty list that is.

Why is it that I think this looks like a Moto V70 from like six years ago?
Joseph…yep…they absolutely had to use the V70 as an inspiration for the design on this one. Just with an up in price of about $1,500.

Otherwise, when you disassemble the whole thing it's basically parallel to a Krzr… riiiiiiiight. All that for the convenient price of $1, 999, WOOHOO! I hope nobody actually rushes to get one…
I would LOVE to see the pre-purchase numbers for this 'phone'. I feel this is going to be a big ole bomb for Motorola. I mean, who are they targeting to buy this thing?
