Motorola MOTONAV TN20 and TN30

Motorola recently announced the availability of 2 new GPSs that they claim are perfect for drivers who are traveling in unfamiliar territory. Both are set to be available exclusively at RadioShack.

Let’s begin with the MOTONAV TN20. It sports a 3.5-inch touch screen with a backlight that automatically adjusts to the surrounding light (meaning whether it is day or night, it will brighten or darken accordingly). In addition, all street names and directions are spoken, comes with a POI database of over one million places, and 2D and 3D map displays. Maps are also provided by NAVTEQ.

Next, we have the MOTONAV TN30, which is a slightly more advanced model than the TN20. It comes with maps of the United States, Puerto Rico, and Canada. Instead of a 3.5-inch touch screen, this one boasts a 4.3-inch touch screen, as well as Bluetooth capabilities for hands free calling. If you like POIs, then you will be pleased to know that this model comes with over four million POIs as opposed to one million in the TN20.

Lastly, we have a few similarities between both devices – namely distance, speed, fastest route, shortest route, arrival time, advanced lane guidance, and speed limits are all information both models display. They also come with SD expansion for updating maps and USB port for charging.

As aforementioned, both models will be available from RadioShack. Sean Ramsey, general manager Companion Products, Motorola, had this to say about their new GPSs and RadioShack:

“Motorola is pleased to work with RadioShack to provide drivers with GPS navigation systems that are designed and tested for durability and ease of use. The TN20 is the ideal unit for first-time or experienced GPS users to easily get them where they need to go and TN30 is designed for those who are looking to combine navigation and Bluetooth hands-free calling at a great price.”

In turn, Peter Whitsett, executive vice president-merchandising for RadioShack, had this to say about Motorola:

“Motorola’s brand name and brand recognition are highly regarded in consumer electronics and we are proud to be a part of this important launch. By expanding our Motorola product offerings in our almost 5,800 company and dealer stores in neighborhoods across the country, we can continue to help customers choose the best personal technology solutions to meet their needs.”

Expect the TN20 to retail for $199 and the TN30 to retail for $299.
