Verizon adds cool features to FiOS TV

Got FiOS television? Verizon has added some really cool new features.

• ESPN Fantasy Football: you can see your stats right on your TV. Verizon’s site says you can check stats “while you watch the game.” It’s not clear if you can have the stats up on the screen at the same time as the video.
• Widgets: Weather widgets, scores, and news can be overlaid over video. That’s very cool.
• Remote DVR programming: Now you can schedule recordings online.

These features probably won’t appeal to the masses right away, but for geeks (like me), this is very cool. I already have FiOS Internet and now I am more interested in their television package. Between their multi-room DVR, widgets, and HD content, Verizon is putting together this geek’s dream.
