palm pre removable battery

Palm introduced their next generation smartphone, the Palm Pre and its mobile operating system webOS, last week at the Consumer Electronics Show. One of the things we glossed over in our coverage is the fact that the Palm Pre has a removable, user-replaceable battery. As you can see in the picture above, taken from a slide at Palm’s press conference, the entire back of the phone comes off to expose the battery. Now if this is a well-engineered device, you shouldn’t need to replace your battery for quite some time, but it’s definitely a plus that the company decided to let you replace it in the first place.

Does anybody else feel like Palm purposely did everything Apple refuses to do? Copy and Paste, removable battery, multiple apps open at once, etc…

That's why I hate Apple products. I think they are trying to take the monopole of gadgets, including the monopole of fixing them and replacing parts. – <a href=" remington" rel="nofollow">">remington wdf 1600
