Quick, name the application store that has 140,000 apps, has 23,000 content partners and has facilitated over 100 million downloads with an average paid value of over $20? Give up? It’s Handago, or for you old Palm people, PalmCentral. Launched as PalmCentral ten years ago, Handago now supports 8 different operating systems. The company is celebrating their 10 year anniversary.
Originally, PalmCentral supported PDA owners in their quest to download new applications. As times changed and smartphones took over, the name was changed to Handago and they currently support Palm OS, Windows Mobile and Pocket PC, Blackberry, Symbian, UIQ and most recently, Android.
I happen to be on the new site yesterday looking for an app that turns my Windows Mobile phone into a Wi-Fi hotspot. Simply let the site know what device you have and what applications you seek. The site is quite clean and worked well.
To celebrate their anniversary, they are offering discounts when you spend over $30. See image above for details or click through to the site.
