Digital cameras are a fantastic innovation. There are waterproof ones, ones designed to take a beating, even airtight ones to protect against dust and air contaminants. But who wants a different camera when snorkeling as opposed to mountain biking?
Panasonic has released the Lumix TS1 digital camera. This rugged piece of picture taking power is waterproof to 10 feet, airtight to keep out dust, shockproof with drops under 5 feet, and has reinforced glass and carbon resin components.
Aside from the fact that you can nearly (nearly, don’t actually try it) throw the TS1 against a wall, it has some great imaging features as well. This camera sports a 28mm wide angle – 128mm telephoto, a 2.7-inch LCD, and AVCHD Lite HD video with Dolby Digital Creator for added audio the Lumix TS1 from Panasonic.
Added to all of this Optical Image Stabilization, Face Detection, Intelligent Exposure that adjusts exposure automatically based on ambient lighting, and Face Recognition that remembers specific faces and you have a camera for the outdoor travel of today.
