If you’re feeling a monetary crunch, there’s no need to hit up Pirate Bay for your software. Welcome to “UnPirate.” We’ll be taking a look at the top pirated apps on Pirate Bay and try to find you alternatives. Today, we turn to Adobe Photoshop.
The Pirated: Adobe Photoshop
Adobe Photoshop is one of the top downloaded applications on Pirate Bay. And why wouldn’t it be? Most store versions of the software can cost the buyer anywhere from $200 to $800 depending on the version that you want. Instead of shelling out that kind of dough, let’s take a look at some alternatives.
GIMP is a graphics manipulation program that you can use as an alternative to Adobe Photoshop. It’s a free download and very simple to get the hang of. Features include the ability to enhance photos by fixing perspective distortion, getting rid of barrel distortion and improving colorization. In order to perform any functions on GIMP, you’ll access a customizable interface that allows you to edit at the same time as viewing your piece. If you’re having trouble with GIMP, view one of the free tutorials.
Adobe also has a free online version of Photoshop that provides users with a basic 2GB membership. If you do need more storage, you can rent some extra storage space for a small monthly fee. Once you complete registration, you can upload your photos and use the Photoshop tools to make any edits or enhancements. Available tools include resizing, auto correct, white balance, sharpening, lighting, color effects and more.
Another online photo editor, Splashup, allows you to create new images as well as edit existing ones. Features include multiple image editing, pixel level control, layer effects and filtering tools that allow you to control the appearance of the image. This application does not require a lengthy tutorial and users can jump right in.
