Funny how many things in the phone world are happening in May. The Palm Pre is slated to launch with its slick new webOS, the Android-powered cupcake HTC Dream is to launch and now we are able to confirm we’ll see Windows Mobile 6.5 on May 11 according to the Windows Mobile Team Blog. The debut is set for Tech Ed 2009 and looks to feature a “cool demo.” Oooh demo! But wait, Billy Mays says, there’s more.
How much more? How about giving away some free 2007 phones? Heck yeah!
“Be sure to join us as we are giving away 5 Samsung Blackjack II’s!”
Really, MS? Blackjack II? Originally launched back in November of 2007 (before some of our readers were born, I am sure), the Blackjack II was the less than stellar follow up to the popular Blackjack which ran Windows Mobile 5. It comes as no surprise Samsung had some extra stock of these smartphones.
The news comes in an April 6 post that also announced some webcasts regarding Windows Mobile 6.1 and is aimed at IT pros and developers.
