The new games include hits such as Bejeweled, Need for Speed, RISK, Scrabble, The Sims 3, Tiger Woods PGA Tour, Tetris, and Undercover.
“Gaming on BlackBerry smartphones continues to grow in popularity. EA Mobile has optomized some terrific games for the BlackBerry platform and users will be thrilled to have these new titles available on BlackBerry App World,” said Tyler Lessard, VP Global Alliances and Developer Relations at Research In Motion.
The move underscores consumers’ hunger for new applications for their smartphones. Back in July, it was reported that BlackBerry’s App World hit 2,000 apps available. This June, Apple passed the 50,000 titles mark in its App Store. Clearly, consumers love adding functionality and customization to their devices and EA is looking to cash in with their titles.
