Refurbished first-generation Kindle now available from Amazon for $149.99

Here we have a pretty nice deal on the original Amazon Kindle. Of course, due to the fact that these are the original models, these are being sold as refurbished. The good news is that they are selling for $149.99. All things considered that is not a bad price to pay, especially when you consider the current price on the latest generation Kindle — $299.

Now some may be scared away from the refurbished tag, but here is a little information about what you can expect if you make the purchase. You still have access to the same Kindle book store as the newer model, not to mention the original Kindle has a user replaceable battery as well as an SD card slot for expansion. The last two items being considered perks that were removed from the newer generation Kindle.

So really, aside from the refurbished label, you really have nothing to lose (well, aside from your $149.99), but that could just be considered towards future entertainment costs.
