Just a few days back we were happy to hear that at least some of those people who pre-ordered a Nook were going to have it in time for Christmas morning, well it seems that may not have been all that good of news for everyone. It appears that there have been at least more than a few complaints of those new, and most likely over anxious Nook owners not being able to download anything to read.
According to the postings over on the Barnes & Noble Book Clubs forums, more than a few are being greeted with this simple yet disturbing message.
“Queued: Will complete shortly.”
It seems that the new Nook owners have clogged the tubes in all their excitement.
The forum post, which is now running at about 7 pages seems to finally be at a happy point, meaning users are now able to download new books without issue. And while there was a good amount of people who were frustrated and complaining about the issues, there also seems to have been a good amount of people taking the other side — reminding those users that this is most likely just a temporary issue.
And indeed it was just temporary, but at the same time there was one person, or more specifically, one company that I did not see anywhere on that forum post — a rep from B&N.
And that thought was not any different with some of the forum members. If you read through the mess you will see the full range of complaints. Some angry that they spent more money than they should have, some looking for a quick return of the nook, and some seemingly more mad at B&N for not offering any response.
Bottom line, in the end, it seems that B&N may have another little mess to attend to in regards to the still hard to acquire nook.

I went with High Def during the last turf wars over a high tech item and lost to Blue Ray,,,hoping Toshiba would claim market share and win. That was a 500 dollar mistake. I feel this time around I may have come put the winner with the Kindle 2. I bought one for my wife and it wasnt really decided until about5 days before Christmas and even at that it was just my best educated guess. What helped was the fact that Kindle already ad been out and it was a known product. When Ieread the key pad on the Nook was a joke and the boot up time was long I went Kindle 2. Then when read the much hyped Kindle killer wasnt being delivered on time as promised I breathed a sigh of relief. Needless to say my wife is happy and has down loaded two books. She is an avid reader and also is a writer as of late with three books published.Bottom line is I cant foresee her ever loving it more than a book with pages but it certainly has its place. So Im happy I went Kindle 2 so far so good.
