Google Phone has a $530 pricetag

Google may be a leader in innovation in many other places with software like Wave, Chrome, Chrome OS, etc… But they conform and make the new Google Phone $530 if you want to buy it unlocked. If you go through T-Mobile, you can pick it up for $180 with a contract. The process of purchasing this phone will go through Google no matter what though. On a positive note, the site does say that you will be able to purchase the phone with a Verizon contract soon but no one else.

Be careful when purchasing this phone unlocked though. The Nexus One is a GSM phone which means it will only work on T-Mobile and AT&T right now. Another downside is that of the two, T-Mobile is the only one where you will be able to get a 3G connection so it’s not really worth the extra $350 unless you think you’re only going to use it for a year.

With the official announcement of the Nexus One came the official launch of its support page. On the page you can access video demos of each of the standard apps on the phone.
