Skype today announced that it will now be able to enter your TV. Thanks to TV manufacturing partners LG and Panasonic, the new line of HDTV’s will feature embedded Skype. And, while the consumer will still have to buy the separate camera to actually use the service, it makes sense for Skype to move to television. The guy below will explain:
The big idea behind bringing Skype to the TV is that people want a more convenient way to communicate via Skype. While most people do like conferencing, yelling into a cheap laptop camera and microphone doesn’t give you the best experience. Also, now Skype will be able to spin off a family aspect of the service by connecting users to their distant relatives.
