Want a free smartphone? Just try on some pants at American Eagle Outfitters American Eagle has just announced a fairly unique offer — try on a pair of pants and get a free smartphone. The deal sounds simple enough, though the obvious is there in that each free phone requires a two year agreement. That said, head on over to American Eagle, try on a pair of AE jeans and receive the instructions on how to claim your free phone upon exiting the dressing room. And no, a purchase is not required. In total, the offer is said to include 40 phones, of which not all are named in the press release. But it did mention that some of the models would include Android and BlackBerry. And to sweeten that deal just a little, American Eagle is also offering up a $25 American Eagle Money Card. Finally, the offer will begin on July 21st and run though August 3rd.

How it works:

  • As customers exit the AE fitting rooms after trying on jeans, they will receive a special card that explains how to select their phone and carrier at www.ae.com/jeans.
  • The new phone and $25 AE Money Card is sent to the customer via FedEx.
  • Users will be given the opportunity to download an AE logo to their phone deck that acts as a direct link to the AE mobile site.
  • Online shoppers will receive the special card in their order shipment with every denim purchase.
