Opera Mini Comes Out of Beta With Version 5.1 on Android I have never really gotten into Opera. I always found it easier to go with Firefox or Chrome on my desktop and the default browser on my Droid. Well that certainly has changed (at least with the Droid) now that Opera Mini 5.1 has officially been stripped of its beta tags and is ready for download on the Android market.

If you have tried any of the previous versions of the beta, you probably uninstalled it pretty quickly like I did. However, this new update adds a bit more functionality that ties the bow on Opera Mini and makes it a very very good browser alternative.

You might be surprised to find that this new rendition of the browser really doesn’t have anything different from the last release. The exception being larger display support, which based on the trend with the Evo and Droid X, is a good thing. But the stability update has really tied the bow on Opera, making it my browser of choice.
