Bing Coming to Google

Bing is traveling onto Google’s territory with its upcoming release of an Android application. The application is said to do just about anything the web-based Bing can do whether it be web search, images, maps, news, or shopping.

With Bing trailing behind Google’s 62.6% market-share on search, it is doing what it needs to do to bring itself into the running with Google. An easily navigable mobile-search application would definitely bring in some extra searches. And while Google may have the convenience factor on their side, they are far from perfect, and if Bing exploits Google’s flaws, there is no doubt that it will start seeing an increase in queries.

For instance, I prefer Bing’s shopping and travel abilities much more than Google’s. I like to say that there are some places where you need simplicity and some places where you need a little something extra. Bing is that something extra in terms of travel and shopping. So if I need flight descriptions on the fly (pun unintended), I can almost guarantee that Bing would provide me with just the information I need in a much cleaner and enriched form than Google will.

The Bing Android application is said to be coming within the next 6 weeks, but keep your eyes open for a closer launch date.
